# Group blocks to move them together

[Canonical article](https://slides.com/docs/grouping-content-blocks)

Group content blocks to move, resize, and animate them together.

If you are new to selecting and configuring content, start with [Working with blocks](/docs/working-with-blocks).

Select the blocks and press <kbd>⌘ G</kbd> on macOS or <kbd>Ctrl G</kbd> on Windows. You can also right-click a selected block and choose **Group**. To ungroup, press <kbd>⌘ ⇧ G</kbd> on macOS or <kbd>Ctrl ⇧ G</kbd> on Windows.

Double-clicking on a group will open it so that the inner blocks can be edited. Once open you can select and group inner blocks to create a nested group.

## Tips

- Hold <kbd>⌘</kbd> on macOS or <kbd>Ctrl</kbd> on Windows and select a grouped block to select it without opening the group first.
- To add a block to an existing group, cut it out, open the group and paste it.
