# Device preview

[Canonical article](https://slides.com/docs/device-preview)

Device preview lets you check how your presentation fits different screens without leaving the editor. Preview a phone or tablet in portrait or landscape, or try a square or widescreen display.

Here's a slide in the landscape phone preview:

## Choose a preview size

1. Open your presentation in the editor and click **Preview** in the left sidebar.
2. Click the **Preview size** button (the devices icon) in the top-left corner.
3. Choose a device or aspect ratio, then navigate through your slides to check how they look.

The **Preview size** menu includes **Phone** (9:19), **Tablet** (3:4), **Square** (1:1), **Tablet – Landscape** (4:3), **Widescreen** (16:9), and **Phone – Landscape** (19:9).

Choose **Default** to fit the preview to your current screen again. Click **Resume editing** (the pencil icon) to return to the editor.

Device preview changes only the viewing area. Your slide dimensions and content layout stay the same. To change the dimensions of the presentation itself, see [Presentation size and aspect ratio](/docs/presentation-size-and-aspect-ratio).
